Functieomschrijving

Do you believe containers are the future and feel completely at home with Kubernetes? As part of a team of Platform Engineers, you’ll be responsible for setting up and managing the Kubernetes platform to support our international teams in the Netherlands and Ukraine.

What does a Platform Engineer do at Budget Thuis?

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in our new Platform team. Together with four fellow DevOps engineers, you'll be responsible for developing and expanding container- and cloud-native solutions and services, including Kubernetes. You’ll automate the build and deployment process as much as possible using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), while also building an internal IDP (Internal Developer Platform) solution!

The team is small, international, and highly motivated, with a strong focus on collaboration. We’re eager to explore emerging technologies from different perspectives and build solutions that truly fit the needs of the company. The atmosphere is informal, and we value transparency and communication. Each day starts with a stand-up to discuss what everyone is working on and whether anyone needs support.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintaining and managing Kubernetes clusters;

  • Automating deployment and scaling processes;

  • Implementing security and compliance measures;

  • Supporting developers in building containerized applications;

  • Collaborating with the team to develop new solutions;

  • Troubleshooting issues and quickly resolving incidents;

  • Keeping a sharp eye on cost-effectiveness when implementing solutions and configuring cloud infrastructure.

Vereisten

What do you bring?

  • You have over 5 years of experience as a system administrator, developer, or a similar role;

  • You have more than 3 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration (experience with FluxCD or ArgoCD is a plus);

  • You have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code automation, such as Terraform or Ansible;

  • You have worked in an Azure Cloud environment;

  • You have experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions is a plus);

  • You are comfortable working with GitHub and GitHub Actions;

  • You are familiar with tools like ElasticSearch and RabbitMQ;

  • Proficiency in Dutch is a plus, not a must.

We offer you

  • A gross salary between € 4.000 and € 5.500 depending on knowledge and experience (based on 40 hours);

  • A 13th-month salary;

  • Summer Fridays Off: Every Friday in July and August is a paid day off! That’s 9 extra vacation days!

  • One fully paid workday per year to volunteer for a cause you care about;

  • 25 vacation days (based on 40 hours per week), with the option to buy an additional 1.5 weeks;

  • Pension plan: You save 16% of your gross salary including holiday pay – 11% is contributed by Budget Thuis, and 5% by you;

  • Monthly ClassPass credits for fitness and wellness activities;

  • Commuting options: choose between a Swapfiets (bike subscription) or an NS Business Card (public transport);

  • Free use of Budget Mobiel and Budget Internet services;

  • Hybrid working (50/50 office and remote);

  • One full month per year to work 100% remotely.
